About Us

Shepherds Bookbinders began selling fine papers, stationery and bookbinding materials in 1988 from Rochester Row in Pimlico to bookbinders, artists, and bibliophiles.  Everything sold in the shop was carefully chosen for its beauty, strength and archival integrity, and that ethos continues today.

The store vastly increased its stock after incorporating Falkiner Fine Papers in the early noughties and moved to a new space in Gillingham Street near Victoria station, where it is populated with 700 shelves of papers sourced from around the world, a wall of bookbinding cloths, leathers and tools, and handmade artisanal stationery goods.

From here we send the finest papers, materials and craft tools to creatives all over the world as well as offer a personal and knowledgeable service to customers who come to visit us. We are passionate about bringing new makers and designs to our customers, whilst retaining a huge range of the best quality papers and materials.

Shepherds use many of these papers and materials in their bookbinding workshops: find out more by clicking on Bookbinding Services.
